In an exclusive interview published by The Independent on Sunday, June 21, Piker went on to praise former Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn as an "unbelievably empathetic person" who "places humanitarian rights over popularity." Piker is an outspoken critic of Israel’s military action in Gaza and was due to travel to London for an event this month but found his entry had been banned by the UK Home Office. Before the ban, Piker had been accused of antisemitism by Labour MP David Taylor and a Jewish campaign group for his comments about Israel, a charge he strongly denies.
